If that wasnt enough for you, the one day event will also host a book launch, The author Nicholas leach has spent many hours conducting research about Skegness Lifeboats since the early 1800's, this is what the publishers have to say about the book:

"This book provides a comprehensive history of the lifeboats and lifeboat crews which have served the Skegness station, from the early days of the small rowing boats to the modern high-speed Mersey class lifeboat. Many rescues are described, and the informative text is accompanied by a comprehensive collection of photographs, many previously unpublished.

The author, Nicholas Leach, has written extensively about the history of the lifeboat service, including a number of titles for Landmark. He has compiled this book with the full co-operation of Skegness lifeboat station and it is an authoritative account of more than 180 years of rescues and life-saving."
